During your pet’s life, they may need surgery to improve their health and overall quality of life. When it comes to surgery for your pet, we guarantee that they will receive the best care throughout their procedure and during their recovery. At our hospital, we use modern equipment and advanced techniques to perform every procedure with precision and success. We understand that as pet parents you get some anxiety when your pet undergoes a surgical procedure. Rest assured we are always available to listen to your concerns and explain the procedure thoroughly.

What surgeries are performed at your hospital?

At our hospital, we perform a wide range of surgeries whether routine or emergency. We offer spays and neuters, dental extractions, soft tissue surgery and so much more!

How is my pet prepared for surgery?

Surgery is a big deal and to ensure that everything goes well we follow strict preoperative protocols. Firstly as with all procedures that require anesthesia, we perform diagnostic testing. We run pre-anesthetic bloodwork to determine how much anesthesia to use during the procedure. Blood tests will also reveal underlying conditions that may affect the surgery. We may also use other diagnostic tools to check their liver and kidney as these organs metabolize drugs during surgery.

Prior to the procedure, our vets will discuss timing and instructions for the day of surgery. We ask that all pets fast for 6-8 hours before surgery. It’s also important that your pet is updated on their vaccines. If you have concerns or questions about your pet’s upcoming surgery, don’t hesitate to reach out to us.

How can I support my pet during their recovery?

For a speedy recovery, it’s important that your pet rests well. To help with their pain our veterinarians will prescribe medication. It’s imperative that their drugs are administered on time as they can make recovery easier. Depending on the surgery your pet had, our team may recommend certain activities or modifications to ease your pet back into its usual lifestyle.
