Protect your feline friend from life-threatening illnesses with a vaccination plan.
Congratulations on your newest feline family member! One of the first steps you should take is to get them vaccinated. Vaccines are formulated to give your pet antibodies that protect them from catching diseases. At our hospital, we know it can be tedious to keep up-to-date with your furry friend’s vaccinations so we work with you to create a schedule. When your pet is due for its shot we reach out to you to bring them in. If your pet is due for its vaccines, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 905-856-7387.
Your kitten should start their vaccine schedule when they are about 6 to 8-weeks-old. These vaccines should continue until they are approximately 6-months-old. When they get older they are eligible for booster shots. To ensure that your pet is not over-vaccinated our veterinarians create a vaccine schedule for each pet. Your pet’s first vaccinations will be intimidating for them. To make the process easier for your loyal companion it helps to get them into the habit of being touched and getting them used to be in a carrier bag. For the car ride to our office, you may bring them treats or a toy to keep them occupied. When your pet gets to our hospital we will be patient and gentle with them to make them feel comfortable. It is best to associate visits to the vet with positive reinforcement early on in their life.
